The Scorpion EXO-AT960: a flip-up adventure helmet with a removable peak, ECE 22.06 and DOT certification, and a wide eye port that takes goggles. Good for Virginia backroads and fire trails.

What the features mean on the road

• ECE 22.06 and DOT: ECE 22.06 requires a wider range of testing than the older 22.05. Why it matters: the newer standard.
• Removable peak visor: keep it for ADV riding, remove it for a more aerodynamic touring setup.
• Flip-up chin bar: one lever, either hand. Why it matters: take a break or talk at a stop without removing the helmet.
• Wide eye port: better peripheral and downward visibility; goggles fit when the shield is off.
• Drop-down SpeedView sun visor and an EverClear no-fog shield.
• Comm-ready: built to integrate with the EXO-COM communicator.

Fit and sizing

Three polycarbonate shell sizes with dual-density EPS. We fit helmets free at the shop, so you can check the shape before you buy.

A good fit if you split time between pavement and dirt and want one helmet for both.
Look elsewhere if you want a lighter, non-modular shape: see the EXO-T520.
