The Arai Corsair-X in the Rea-6 graphic: Arai’s flagship full-face helmet, with an intermediate-oval fit and a Pinlock insert in the box. Under the paint it is the same Corsair-X as every other graphic, so you are choosing the look, not a different helmet.
What the features mean on the road
- Internal Air Channel: pulls hot, moist air from the eye-port area through ducts behind the cheek pads and out the side cowl vents. Why it matters: it helps reduce fogging, which counts on a humid Richmond summer morning.
- IC Duct5 vent with a three-position slide gate: better sealing for less noise and water intrusion when closed. Arai reports 11% more airflow than the previous Delta Duct 5. Why it matters: you can tune airflow on the move and keep the rain out when you need to.
- PB-SNC2 shell (Super Fiber plus synthetic reinforcing fibers): Arai builds the shell to be strong yet lighter, with excellent glancing-off properties. Why it matters: lighter weight on your neck over a long day, and a smooth shape that helps deflect impact energy.
- Lower VAS shield pivot: a smoother temple area and a smaller pivot cover. Why it matters: fewer places for an impact to catch.
- Large shield latch and dual-function lever: operates with heavy gloves, and one lever releases both the side pod and the shield pin for fast shield changes. A positive stop helps resist unintended opening, and the shield has a de-mist position.
- Odor-resistant, fully removable liner: easier to keep fresh through the season.
Fit: intermediate oval
The Corsair-X uses Arai’s intermediate oval head shape, which Arai says suits the majority of North American riders. It still has to be tried on: Arai itself says a helmet has to be tried on to find the right fit.
A good fit if you ride sport or street and have an intermediate-oval head.
Look elsewhere if your head is long front to back and narrow side to side. Ask us about the Arai Signet-X, which is built for long-oval heads.
About the Rea-6 graphic
The Rea-6 graphic is applied to the same Corsair-X shell, liner and shield system as the other graphics. See the photos for the full design.
