What the features mean on the road

M.E.D.S. (Motion Energy Distribution System): a dual-layer EPS liner whose inner layer swings on impact so its columns absorb energy. Why it matters: Shoei designed it to reduce rotational forces to your head.
Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ shell: fiberglass with organic and high-performance fibers, in four shell sizes for sizes XS–XXL.
16 intake and exhaust vents: air channels between the EPS layers keep air moving through long motos.
V-470 visor: a large field of vision and roost protection, with screws that shear off on impact.
Large eyeport: room for oversized goggles, with a shell-integrated goggle channel.
Mouthpiece with aluminum mesh and washable foam filter: helps keep roost, rocks, mud and dust out.

Fit and sizing

Retailers list the VFX-EVO as an intermediate oval in four shell sizes. We fit helmets free at the shop, so you can check the shape and size before you buy.

A good fit if you race or ride hard and want a premium motocross helmet.
